The SAS Programmes

Assessment

The learning and developmental assessment involves a number of specialised tests; completion of an in-depth questionnaire, and a personal consultation with one of our practitioners, with the aim to identify underlying causes and find ways to overcome any limitations. You will have the opportunity to discuss any educational, developmental, behavioural or emotional concerns you may have and explore possible routes to improvement. You will receive detailed explanations of our findings together with our recommendations of how to proceed and we will also provide you with a 10 page written report. Please allow an hour-and-a-half for the assessment.

During the assessment we will conduct a number of diagnostic tests for those who are able to reliably complete the various procedures. For children under the age of six, that often are unable to complete these tests, we will make observations and use questionnaire information.

Tests included in the assessment:

• Minimum Hearing Level Test for the right and left ear separately;
• Hearing Balance Test;
• Frequency Discrimination Test for the right ear, left ear, and inter-hemispherically;
• Word Discrimination Test;
• Ear Dominance Test;
• Attention and Planning Test.

The tests are specifically designed to discover the possible underlying causes of the concerns raised and to provide guidance on how to design an effective remedial programme.

SAS Neuro-Sensory Activation Programmes

Based on the results of the initial assessment we will recommend the most appropriate course of action. We will design a programme around the individual abilities, needs and responses of the client. This can include appropriate elements of the following programmes:

• The SAS Attention Activation Programme will help to increase attention and concentration and reduce hyperactivity and impulsiveness.
• The SAS Language Activation Programme helps the brain to start processing faster and strengthens the specialised processing centres in the brain. This programme leads to long lasting improvements in all language based tasks.
• The SAS Learning Enhancement Programme is specifically designed to activate and balance both brain-halves and remove the blocks that are holding learning, understanding and memory recall back. This programme will benefit all that whish to progress further.
• The SAS Confidence Building Programme uses NLP scripts and brain activation techniques to build confidence and instil self worth.
• The SAS Sensory Balancing Programme helps to reduce the negative effects of poor sensory processing and can be used with other SAS interventions to achieve lasting improvements.

To ensure maximum effectiveness Neuro-Sensory Activation sessions are given on a daily basis for one to two hours every day, normally Monday to Saturday, for two to three weeks. Total duration of an initial programme is normally 18 or 24 hours. In some cases additional reinforcement programmes are provided some time after the initial programme to reinforce and consolidate the positive changes in the brain.

If the client was able to reliably complete the tests that are provided during the assessment, then these tests will again be taken at the end of the initial programme. Clients are also invited to return 4 to 6 weeks after completion of the initial programme for a follow-on series of tests and to provide feedback on the behaviour and performance progression following the programme. The post programme and follow-on tests are included in the initial programme fee.

Psychotherapy - Life and Career Coaching

We offer coaching, counselling, psychotherapy and hypnotherapy sessions as effective ways to tackle relationship issues, emotional upsets, stress, depression, fear, traumas or other issues that stand in the way of leading a happy and fulfilling life. Free Talks

We regularly give Free Talks that highlight some of the underlying causes of a range of learning and developmental difficulties and what can be done to overcome these. You will learn more about the possibilities that now exist to activate inherent talent in children and adults. The presentations last for about 60 minutes followed by Questions & Answers. These talks are aimed at parents, but are open to educational and health professionals or anyone interested in this subject. Please check under events for further details.

Workshops

We organise a number of one-day workshops on a range of subjects, such as:

• Study and Learning Enhancement;
• Auditory Processing Disorders and Dyslexia;
• Sensory Perceptual Issues and Autism.

A small charge applies to these workshops to cover our costs. The workshops are aimed at parents, but are open to educational and health professionals or anyone interested in this subject. Please check under events for further details.
